C'Mon Kids, Don't Do Yourself Down, Throw Out Your Arms For A New Sound

I'm tired.
It's night shifts again this week, and the steady drop off in hours spent asleep during the week has seen my energy levels drop to zero tonight. My emotions are all over the place as well, and I think I could end up chucking a computer into a bunny rabbit's face.
Listening to Godspeed whilst reading a New Scientist article about loop quantum theory isn't helping either. I should stop that. Maybe it's time to practice my spin bowling again down the gap between the desks, or see if I can outrun the light sensors in the ceiling.
My efforts to get people to listen to The National seem to be working. Rich has left a post-it note on the CD he borrowed off me with "lovely, lovely, lovely" written on it.

Driving to work tonight almost resulted in the death of several people stood outside the mill waiting for Babyshambles. They were wandering aimlessly around the road, and three people just walked blindly in front of me. I didn't kill them though and anyone who says that I deliberately drove that way in the hope that I could run down Pete Doherty is lying.
I wonder if he turned up. Maybe he didn't. Maybe he's dead. Whee-hee-hee.
I'm sure most Babyshambles fans are genuinely nice folk who are just slightly misguided, yet my experience of them at Leeds and in the press shows that the GlennMaximâ„¢ of 'cunts attract cunts' holds true *.

I saw the 'Woman In Black' in Manchester last Friday. I didn't really want to go, because I'm grumpy and dismissive of things, but I really enjoyed myself. Ha, take that Allan! The two main actors were both excellent, the story understated and involving. Plus it was cool how many people got utterly shit scared by the story and started screaming. Heh, people would scream and jump out of their seats, and then would nervously laugh for a few minutes in an attempt to cover up their embarrassment.
We then travelled down to the midlands, mainly as it was Julia's 30th birthday. As a birthday treat we travelled to Warwick to see Rob Newman.
I dunno, a lot of what he said made you think, but there were some bits that made me slightly uncomfortable. He put forward the dispute over train routes to Iraq as a(the) reason for the first world war, but some of his language seemed to make out that this was the one and only reason for the conflict. When it wasn't. I dunno, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't trying to mislead his audience but it did make me slightly suspicious. Maybe there is nothing wrong with being selective of facts to put across an essentially valid point, yet it felt like he was being slightly disingenuous. I'm sure Rob Newman knows the full depth of the topics he was talking about, but fucking hell, it was a comedy gig not a history lecture so I'm being overly harsh.

*To clarify, what I'm saying is that Pete Doherty is a cunt, and that he attracts a lot of fans to his band who are also cunts, and who see some sort of glory or coolness in being a cunt. Okay? Good.
